The pedestal roller is one of the small devices in the mooring arrangement on board, which is used as changing the direction of the mooring line. The position dimensioning of the pedestal roller is usually ignored in the ship outfitting design. And the accurate height and inclination of the pedestal roller is adjust by running a line on site base on the note on the drawing. The workers on site will try to determine the accurate position several times repeatedly ,which is not easy for them.
The formulas of the accurate position dimensioning of the pedestal roller are derived according to the space analyticall geometry methods in this paper. The accurate position dimensions can be calculated according to these formulas and be given on the design drawing. Which bring the design process to completion and is easy to the installation of the pedestal roller.
